AI measures our panic, and it's off the charts

We’re not doing so great, to be honest. The pandemic, recession and endless examples of police brutality have driven many to despair, which is certainly reflected in any quick doom-scroll through social media. The scale seems almost immeasurable, until you realize we’ve figured out a way to quantify most things, so why not our panic?


In some sense, that’s exactly what Cognovi’s emotion AI platform does. Work first started on the AI eight years ago but through darkly comic timing, it has come into prominence in 2020, the year from hell.


“Unfortunately there is no Dow Jones Social Impact Index,” says Beni Gradwohl, the chief executive officer of New York’s Cognovi Labs.
